Concordia Orchestra Student Showcase Concert

Last Saturday night EarthGirl and I ventured to Moorhead to hear the last Orchestra Concert of the year. The 4 featured soloists were all senior orchestra members and included a percussionist, a flautist, and two pianists. The works were well prepared and quite enjoyable. The final piece was a big chunk of the Firebird Suite, and they really delivered.

2015 ND Boys Swimming and Diving

Last Friday and Saturday the Bismarck Aquatic center was the place to be. Century was trying for a three-peat, and Minot was lurking after their WDA win the week before at the new pool in Williston. Century set up very well with lots of swimmer getting into the final heat of each event. Will qualified in the 100 free for the first time ever and swam Friday but didn't finish high enough (top 16) to be able to swim Saturday. Friend and teammate Andrew Hopkins also qualified in the 50 free but didn't move on to Saturday.
By the time it was over there was no doubt who the Champions were. There were 4 new State records set in 12 events - 3 by Century and 1 by a diver. Century's Loren Sether set new 500 free and 200 IM records on Friday, and then Saturday anchored the 400 free relay squad to another State record.
Final team scores were Century 401 - Minot 333, 5 teams in the low 200's, and everybody else.
